The number of new listings fell by 1.9% on a year-over-year basis stopping at 15,611.

“In spring and summer of 2019, the housing demand was up following slow sales pace reported last year. Many first-time buyers still face difficulties with finding affordable homes. Federal parties who participate in the election campaign promise to solve the affordability issue with certain measures. Although the demand aimed proposals are still important, it’s necessary for all levels of government to be focused on improving supply of various housing types,” – noted TREB President Michael Collins
