The national index rose from 56.74 a week ago and exceeded February’s low results (54.15). However, it still remained lower than this year’s highest number seen in July (59.06).
When it comes to home prices forecasts, 42.84% of respondents expect an increase during the next 6 months, while 39.81% predict no changes, and 12.97% see a possible decrease.
The most optimistic region was Quebec (63.02). Then goes Ontario (58.88), Atlantic Canada (55.28), British Columbia (54.92), and the Prairies (51.04).
Another important finding is that most age groups reported higher confidence, although the index varied depending on the income level.
Overall, both homeowners and renters showed growing optimism.
