“We believe the supply of affordable homes and long-term rental units in Toronto have to be the main task for City Council and all variants needs to be considered, including laneway housing,” – noted TREB CEO John DiMichele.

Although the proposals already have the support of certain committees, they need a majority from the City Council now.

In case they succeed, TREB says, it will attract the necessary attention to supply issue and other housing problems. That’s why the Board is calling for the council to pass the initiatives.
