Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to go on without Canada and to introduce auto tariffs in case the deal isn’t signed. On Tuesday, Trump changed the tone, saying the deal-making with Canada “is coming along very well.”

However, he added: “Canada wants to make a deal very much. Me, if we make it, that’s good, if we don’t, it’s OK, too.”

Although certain members of Congress warned the Trump administration that it can’t go on without Canada, the administration said it actually can.
