Speaking about posted mortgage rates, CMHC believes there won’t be any big movements in 2011, but in 2012 rates will slowly start rising.
Today many economists expect the Bank of Canada to keep its key overnight target rate unchanged (1%) at its next meeting on Tuesday.
Earlier this year analytics said the BoC will start raising rates in June or July, but now, due to the softening of economic growth, the forecasts are shifted to autumn.
