Most young Canadians would prefer a new office-home work schedule

During the pandemic, many Canadians got used to working from home, and now a new poll shows most workers are ready for this schedule to remain permanently.

According to the recent report by ADP Canada and Maru/Blue, 45% of working respondents would prefer to work from home for at least three days a week. This opinion is particularly popular among younger employees, with 61% aged 18 and 34 supporting the split week between the office and home.

But although we can see a rising interest for such work schedules, 69% are not ready for reduced compensation in case it happens.

When it comes to returning to the office, many workers worry about their personal safety amid COVID-19 pandemic.

The survey shows that about quarter of Canadians are either anxious or don’t even want to return to the office. More than half say they worry about catching COVID-19 at the workplace.

Nevertheless, while many workers are concerned about it, 84% still believe their employer has taken all the necessary measures in order to protect workers.
