The latest report by Sotheby’s International Realty Canada says a strong upward trend in single-family home prices is the main factor pushing households away from the asset class.

“Many believe that modern families tend to prefer living in multi-unit and city centre locations, but, according to the report, if price were not an issue, they would choose single family homes,” – Sotheby’s International Realty Canada president and CEO Brad Henderson said.

The study shows that 83% of young Canadians would definitely prefer detached homes for their families if the price is not a problem.
