“Although we can still see certain imbalances, they are getting weaker and such factors as employment, growth in new households and higher interest rates will provide the necessary support for home prices increase.”

In CMHC’s opinion, inflation-adjusted home prices in Ontario will stay relatively stable and near the levels of last year’s Q4.

Potential buyers may face weaker bidding wars and will not hurry too much with the purchase, taking time to make a reasonable decision.

However, homeowners could face longer period of home sales.
