It was a mixed reaction on employment data from leading Canadian economists about future Bank of Canada rate policy. TD Bank’s Graig Alexander thinks BoC will hold the horses up until next year, while BMO chief economist Douglas Porter welcomes good Canadian employment data and forecasts that Bank will start gradually increasing rates later this year. Nobody, however, expects rapid increases in overnight and prime rate.
