It should be noted that employment question is very important for politicians campaigning for the May 2 federal election. And especially, it concerns Ontario where manufacturers are still trying to overcome the consequences of the last recession.
It seems the report did not change expectations that the BoC won’t raise its key rate this time.
On Wednesday the central bank will publish its quarterly report. It will include updated outlook on growth and inflation. Then we’ll see what potential changes there may be in the nearest future.
